Mercedes-Benz India: Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG Ready For Launch In India On July 22

Mercedes-Benz has decided to do whatever it takes to capture the maximum share in the India luxury car market. Last month, Mercedes-Benz launched Limited Edition Mercedes-Benz- A Class and Mercedes-Benz- B Class, and on the other side it tied-up with Carzonrent under the brand of Myles. 

Now following the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLS 350, Mercedes-Benz has decided to launch its new CLA 45 AMG on July 22. Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG is an updated version of CLA saloon and is based on the Modular Front Architecture (MFA) platform used in the A-Class and B-Class hatchbacks.

Driving dynamics feel highly sporting. The CLA 45 AMG is a baby monster, powered by a 2.0-litre direct injection turbocharged 4-cylinder in-line engine which produces out a massive 360bhp and 450Nm of torque. If you can handle, its kicks to 2250 rpm really quick can reach 0-100kmph in just 4.3 seconds, literally it makes you feel of a sports car- gliding on the road. It’s a four wheel powered drive controlled by 4MATIC system and the engine is mated to a SpeedShift DCT seven-speed gearbox.

Inside the cabin, the looks are somewhat similar to the Mercedes Benz- A class. There is AMG badging on a flat-bottomed steering wheel, sporty seats that have been specially developed by Recaro. Like other models, AMG Performance Studio give you several options to customize the interior as per choice. On the downside, the stiff suspension setup allows quite a bit of noise and thuds to filter into the cabin even when you are driving even in ‘Comfort’ mode and the ground clearance is too low for Indian roads. It is always ready to kiss the speed breaker even if you drive slow and diagonally. 

On the outside, large wedge-shaped air intakes and scooped out air-appears like anew E 63.  A splitter, a diffuser, fins on the side skirts and of course, the new AMG tailpipes adds to the beauty. 

It is expected to kiss a price tag of 80 Lakh rupees. Looking at the size, price and performance figures, the Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG takes on rivals BMW Z4, Porsche Boxster and the Audi TT. It is the most powerful car among this lot at a lower price.

Mercedes-Benz India: Launches 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLS 350 priced at INR 89.9 lakh

This week the German car maker Mercedes-Benz has launched the new 2014 CLS 350 priced at INR 89.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This unique ‘diamond silver’ colour stunning beauty runs on 15-spoke designed- 18-inch alloy wheels. Powerful 3498cc V6 petrol engine generates 370 Nm of peak torque inside. If you can handle, it can reach 0-100kph mark in just 6.1 seconds and also touch its top speed of 250 kph. For flawless comfort on bumpy roads, the car is equipped with Mercedes’ AIRMATIC suspension, which allows for adjustment of ground clearance through a damping programme switch in a broad range extending from comfortable to sporty handling. The Active Park Assist technology enables the driver with information for the most suitable parking space.
