2014 Nissan Evaila: Ready to Take On Its Rivals Honda Mobilio, Maruti Ertiga and Chevrolet Enjoy

Honda's first MPV ‘Honda Mobilio’ is ready to get launched on 23rd July. Looking at the potential in MPV segment, the Japanese automaker, Nissan India has launched its Nissan MPV- ‘Evalia’ with the updated version. This updated version of Evalia comes with a price tag starting from ₹8.49 Lakh ( ex-showroom Delhi).

Evalia was introduced to the Indian Automobile market in 2012; however, this MPV has not been able to do any good on the sales part. Even the launch of this new Evalia was as big as Honda Mobilio; however, launching a MPV within 10 days after Honda’s launch shows that both the companies find potential in the MPV segment in near future.

2014 Nissan Evalia

Inside the chassis, the new updated Evalia MPV comes with absolutely same K9K- 1.5 litre, four cylinder engine. It produces 85 bhp and a peak toque of 200 Nm coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. Nissan claims a mileage of 19.3 kilometres per litre from this engine in standard conditions.

On the outside it comes with quite a few cosmetic changes.  The chrome grille now comes with Nissan’s corporate V-shape look and taillights gets a much better looks. The interior gets wooden finish with stylish glove box and new floor mats. 

This is the second launch from Nissan within this month. Earlier this month Nissan launched its refreshed 2014 Nissan Sunny in competition to Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen- Vento and the new Ford Fiesta. Now this refreshed version of Evalia will have to compete with Honda Mobilio, Maruti Ertiga, and Chevrolet Enjoy according to price and features. Though it is already competitive but let’s see how Nissan is planning to change the numbers with the revised version of vehicles.

Honda Mobilio: Ready For Launch On 23rd July In India

Looking at the growth, the Japanese automobile giant, Honda Motor Co. has decided to expand its horizon in the Indian automobile industry. Known for the quality, Honda has earned a very good reputation globally in the last few years and maintaining the same, Honda wanted to deliver a spacious Multi Purpose Vehicle within the breach of average crowd. Keeping everything in mind, Honda Engineers worked hard to come up with Honda's first MPV – ‘Honda Mobilio’ which is about to hit the Indian roads on 23^rd July i.e just 1 day after Mercedes-Benz is about to launch its Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG. 

An interesting fact is that the Indian Comedy King - Kapil Sharma will be seen in Mobilio commercial. It is a 7 seater MPV, measuring 4,390mm in length, 1,680mm in width and 1,610mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,650mm. Honda Mobilio looks more like a hatchback and shares features of BRIO and Amaze, blended together with a lot better outcome. The company claims a mileage of 24.2Km/l from its diesel variant, which is best among its rivals Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia along with the best looks.

Mobilio is powered by Honda City’s 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine and the car will be manufactured at Honda’s Greater Noida plant in Uttar Pradesh. Looking at the high demand, initially the pre-booked diesel variants will be delivered followed by the petrol variants a month later.

Mobilio Interior

The price range of Honda Mobilio is expected to fall somewhere between Rs. 6.5 Lakh to 8.5 lakh and all the Honda dealerships are already open for pre-booking with a token amount of Rs. 50,000. Looking at the price and features, Mobilio is definitely going to change the number game for Honda. Lets see how soon it sweeps off its rivals.
