Traveling alone is as crazy as it sounds.  It is common among photographer, writers, spiritual leaders and their followers, and people who have some other motto behind it. For travelling all alone, you have to have strong reason and passion within you. It is a great opportunity for those, who like to explore different places, cultures and people.  It is a strict no-no for people who feel lonely when others are not around them. It is totally different in every way than being out with your friends, family or just in a small group. It is all about you, you are the master of your trip and smart enough to do the things or get them done from others.  I have personally been on 5 solo trips till now for various reasons, and I believe that everyone should try it at least once in life time:

Few reasons to be a solo traveler:

 1.    Freedom:  Traveling alone gives you freedom from everyone and everything you can’t bear. You are the master of your trip; you can eat, drink, go to places of your own choice and do whatever you want to do. No one will be there to bother you or hold you back with various reasons. You can don’t have to listen to anybody for shopping, dressing up and exploring places.
2.    Time for your own: All your time is for your own. You can take few leaves; leave your laptop and other gadgets at home. Keep it as simple as it is possible for you and answer everything question inside your mind without other people’s opinion. Meditate and see how refreshed you will be, once you get back home. Make sure that you fix a time to call your family, and let them know you are all right.
3.    Hobbies: Being solo, and with no one to trouble, you can give all your time to your hobbies like painting, music, writing etc. Give it your best shot and learn from others with similar interest.
4.    Make friends: Do a little research and learn the tricks of initiating a small conversation with unknown people. Every interaction will teach you something different. You can make new friends and share your thoughts with people of same interests.
5.    Overcome your fear: Traveling alone boosts confidence in you.  You learn how to manage on your own, find out how different other individuals think and walk their life.

Few tips for solo travelers:

1.    Accommodation:  Reach your destination during the day time or maximum by early evening to find a suitable accommodation in safe area. If you get any intuition of any kind of harm or trouble, find a safer place at the earliest.
2.    Cash and valuables:  Carry only that much of cash which is required and split it at different spots, keep your credit card and valuables at safe place. Always have a backup plan if anything gets stolen.
3.    Stay within your limits: Stay away from high dosage of alcohol or drugs at any cost. Remember that you are among strangers and there is no one to drag you to your place in case of emergency.
4.    Packing: Keep your bags as small as possible to keep yourself mobile. Carry only essentials.
5.    Eat: Eat what you like but prefer eating light and hygienic food to stay healthy.
6.    Sharing: Avoid sharing your room; however, if you find someone really nice and with similar reason to be there then you may share your room, taxi, food etc. to split the cost.
7.  Travel guide: Do not forget to take you travel books or guide ( Lonely Planet) if you are exploring a new place. These books provide all the need-to-know information beforehand.
