In order to push the sales, introducing the Limited Edition automobiles has been the strategy of Automobile manufacturers this year. Mercedes-Benz- Limited Edition A-Class and Limited Edition B- Class, Toyota Etios Xclusive and Etios Cross Xclusive Edition and even Piaggio has used this strategy in Vespa Limited Edition recently. The tag of Limited Edition itself, makes the buyer feel that he owns a special vehicle of same model. At the same time, people do not mind paying extra for Limited Edition vehicles because of the company fitted extras (accessories, graphics) and the Limited Edition tag.
Ritz Elate Limited Edition
Steadily following the footsteps, the Indian Automobile Giant- Maruti Suzuki has also announced the launch of its Limited Edition variants of ‘Ritz’. This Limited Edition Ritz is called ‘Ritz Elate’ and will be available in only mid-level VXI and VDI variants. When it comes to sales, Ritz hasn’t been doing as good as other models of Maruti Suzuki. So far, the strategy of giving discount on Ritz has been covering up the sales target; however, looking at more than 30% of rise in the overall sales of the company as compared to last June, lead to eruption of this formula at this point of time.
Ritz Elate Interior
New Ritz Elate petrol is powered by the same 1.2-litre K-series engine which produces 85bhp and 113Nm of torque whereas the Diesel variant is powered by 1.3-litre DDiS engine. Looking inside the cabin, like other Limited Edition cars, even ‘Ritz Elate’ gets some cosmetic changes. Ritz Elate comes with new seat covers with a dash of orange, matching floor mats and steering wheel cover, new bag body graphics and door visors. Its new 2-DIN music system is fitted with a Bluetooth stereo kit.

There are minor tweaks in the outer graphics, and now Ritz Elate comes equipped with reverse parking sensor for extra safety. It sounds like a very good deal as these Limited Edition variants will cost just Rs. 20,000- 25,000 extra than older Ritz. And like Vanilla ice cream on brownie, Maruti Suzuki is also offering a discount of up to ₹65,000 on purchase of Ritz in the country.

Six Suzuki motorcycles & scooters in India by 2017

Suzuki Motors, a Japanese multinational corporation is planning to gain a bigger market share in Indian Motorcycle market.  Even after spending eight years, Suzuki Motorcycle India Ltd has been able to gain only 1% share in the Bike segment and 11% share in the scooter segment.
Suzuki Hayabusa
In order to expand its business, Suzuki Motorcycle India has decided to adopt a strategy similar to Maruti Suzuki that is providing multiple offerings and creating sub-segments. Maruti Suzuki has been topping the charts in India for pretty long time now because they realised the importance of offering low-value and high-value cars in same category. Be it the beginner level, Alto 800 and Alto K10 and then hatchbacks Celerio, Elstilo Zen, Wagon R, Ritz, Swift or passenger carriers Omni and Eeco, Maruti Suzuki has managed to sell everything.

By 2016-17, Suzuki Motorcycles plans to double the sales of its bike and motorcycles segment both. As per the plan, Suzuki will increase its number of dealerships and service outlets from 600 at present to 3,000 and increase the number of offerings in its portfolio from six India-made scooters and motorcycles to 12 home grown products in addition to CKD and CBU products imported from Japan. It is expected that Suzuki will also join Japanese rivals Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki on the Moto GP race track and also launch some motorcycles in India soon.

We recently got a new car - a Maruti Suzuki Dzire Vxi. It was a very deeply-thought-and-taken decision to buy a petrol-fueled car. One of the reasons was that our consumption (run per month) was very less (or not much you can say) and the diesel version of the same variant was nearly 125k more! Would talk in a different post about this!

Here's the car!

Anyhow, this is our second car. The first one was a Maruti Suzuki Zen Vxi, which was sold before buying this (as we have parking space for only one car) - grin!

Dzire is a nice car. All in all, we are very happy with our decision to buy Dzire petrol variant. Many people get surprised when we mention that we get an average of 20+ KMPL from our Dzire petrol! Yes! Here is the proof.

It started off from somewhere around 12 KMPL...and reached to 14.2 KMPL upon completion of 230 kilometers!

Then it increased to 18 KMPL!

Then 20 KMPL!

And, this is what we are presently getting out of it - 21 KMPL!

Our first long-distance trip in our new car was to Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. As we would have expected, it was all a smooth and comfortable journey, which also proved to be quite economical. We overall managed to get average of more than 18 KMPL in that trip! Let me tell you that this is the average with A.C. on! Yes! All the time! We never keep the windows of the car open; it helps us in two ways - one, no outside dust in the car; second, better mileage because of better aerodynamics; minimal air friction!

Heading towards Palampur!

We always halt at Bombay Picnic Spot whenever we go to Palampur - It is actually the middle point of the journey. No other point can match the quality and service of Bombay Picnic Spot, I should say. Hygienic, quick, comfortable!

Almost there!

Palampur is a beautiful place. In addition to going to Palampur, we also went to Baijnath, Jogindernagar, Bir, and a few other places. The Dhauladhar range was partly covered with snow. There are times I have seen Dhauladhar completely snow-clad. I just love the view, and the best part is that it is seen very clearly from my maasi's place! Thumbs up!

Here are a few pictures from different locations we covered.

Jungle area - somewhere near Utrala!

It's always fun to visit Palampur in your own vehicle. Talking about Dzire, it is amazing! 'We' are a happy customer! :)
