Eyeing at the business potential in India, Mercedes-Benz launched Limited Edition Mercedes-Benz- A Class and B Class, and also tied-up with Carzonrent last week. And now, German Luxury Automobile giant, BMW, launched ‘BMW X5 Diesel’ from its Chennai plant at an ex-showroom price of INR 70.9 lakh. The third generation BMW X5 has received tremendous customer response since it was first displayed at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014. Initial deliveries of the all-new BMW X5 in India are expected to commence by June as an overwhelming demand has pushed the waiting time to three months.

The new generation BMW X5 is all wheel powered drive with eight-speed ZF automatic gear transmission giving you a top speed of 230Kmph and 0 to 100kmph run in just 6.9seconds. It is powered by a turbocharged diesel engine producing 258bhp of power and 560Nm of torque.

This new BMW X5 features new headlamps with LED inserts and revised two piece tail lights. It comes with a large wheelbase of 2933mm and the overall dimensions of the car is 5mm wider, 32mm longer and 14mm taller than its predecessor, making it 1938mm wide, 4,886mm long and 1762mm high. Inside the cockpit, you will get a freestanding 10.5-inch iDrive control display monitor, four zone climate controls, cruise control, a lane departure warning, road sign information; head-up display, night vision with motion detection sensors and a 360 degree surround view parking assistance.

BMW said in a statement that ‘our team at the facility will build the all-new BMW X5 with uncompromising engineering. We are confident that the BMW X5 produced in Chennai will further increases our momentum in the Indian luxury car segment’. The company is considering ramping up the production to meet the huge demand in the Indian market.
