Finland based smartphone company, Jolla is planning to partner exclusively with Indian Shopping portal- Snapdeal for selling its products online.  If rumours are true, Jolla is also negotiating with other online portals in Russia and Hong Kong with intent to sell its products online in near future.
Jolla
Jolla, a company established by its five pillars named Sami Pienimäki, Jussi Hurmola, Marc Dillon, Stefano Mosconi, Antti Saarnio. An interesting fact is that they are Ex- Nokia employees. Nokia, after rapidly losing market share in the smartphone market, sold its handset business to Microsoft last year. Recently, Microsoft announced that it will soon be stopping the production of Nokia X, Asha and range of feature phones for India and also decided cut down more than 18,000 jobs which includes mostly Ex- Nokia employees.
Jolla
Jolla’s debut smartphone was introduced in 2013 May. It sports a 4.5-inch IPS qHD(540x960p) display, 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. The internal 16GB storage is expandable via micro SD card and it also comes with 2MP front and 8MP rear camera with LED flash. Company provides a 2100mAh battery for longer battery backup and  the  changeable 'The Other Half' smart covers along with 4G network connectivity are the unique selling points of the company’s debut handset.

Based on Nokia’s and Intel's MeeGo platform, Jolla handsets runs Sailfish OS.  The MeeGo team left Nokia to form Jolla, utilizing funding from Nokia's "Bridge" program to raise funds. Sailfish OS uses cloud source user interface and is capable of running Android apps. That means using a different OS, you can install most of your favourite android apps.

Like Motorola’s exclusive selling partner Flipkart, Snapdeal will be the official selling partner for Jolla smartphones and also recently launched Obi smartphones. Backed up by Ex-Nokia employees, Jolla is expected to give a unique smartphone experience with exclusive hardware and software features. Let’s see how this reincarnated Nokia (Jolla) does what Nokia could not do to for survival in this overcrowded Android horizon.
