Asus Chromebox
Today, Asus India launched it Google Chrome OS based computer ' Chromebox'. The lauch was expected to happen next month but with the launch of Chromebox, Asus has become the second company to launch a computer with Chrome OS after 'LG Chromebase AiO' which was launched last week. Though Chrome OS is absolutely new in market which is completely dominated by Mac and Windows OS; however, the company claims it to be a game changer. Learning from the problems like Virus, Slowness with the time, slow start-up, irregular updates and bug fixes, which start occurring in Windows PC after sometime, Chrome OS boasts about faster booting time (< 9 seconds), no slowness and impressive faster performance even after few years. It does not need manual downloads of anti-virus or any other protection software as it comes with inbuilt security application with multiple layers of security which updates automatically.

The base model CN60 Celeron, starts from Rs 21,000 onwards and is powered by Intel Celeron 2955U processor coupled with with 2 GB RAM. Like two other models the base level system does not support 4K display. The second model, CN60 Core i3 model starts from Rs.36,500 and is powered by i3 Processor coupled with 4 GB RAM, and the top model, CN60 Core i7 model starts from Rs.58,000, powered by Intel i7 Processor coupled with 4 GB RAM. All the models come with standard 16GB SSD based storage drive which ideally is more stable and faster than normal SATA HDD. In order to compensate for the storage space, Google is offering 100GB of Google Drive space free subscription for two years with every Chromebox.

The Asus Chromebox comes with standard HDMI port, Display Port, SD Card reader, four USB 3.0 ports, 802.11 Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and Gigabit Ethernet port. The Android OS did not take much time to dominate the mobile phone OS market, so lets see how long Google's Chrome takes to be the pioneer in computer OS and at the end how Asus benefits from that.
