Internet has become a basic need not only in the corporate sector but also on personal gadgets as well. How different does it feel, if someday internet is down due to some maintenance or bad weather and even the slow speed is not less annoying. So far, I have never seen any ISP providing the promised speed continuously. Believe it or not, the need for faster internet is growing by 40 to 50 percent annually on worldwide level.

Optical Fibre
In order to cater the demand, few geeks of High-Speed Optical Communications dept. of the Denmark Technical University demonstrated their new innovative technique that cab provide internet @ data transfer rate of 43 Terabits per second. It involved usage of a single laser transmitter and a special optic fibre developed by the Japanese communications company- NTT. And not only this, the same team achieved data transmission rate of about 1 Pbps ( Petabits per seconds) using hundreds of laser transmitters at the same time. This kind of performance makes me believe that 4G or 5G service from any ISP is light years slower, and with this they have broken all the past records of internet speed. So far, Engineers of the Karlsruhe Institute Of Technology, Germany had a records of 32 Terabits per second. The best part is that the optical fibre used during this experiment is almost of the same size of a standard fibre cable.
s internet will be a part of our home, cars, offices, institutions and corporate sector, so this kind of achievement will be of a great usage in near future. If this technology becomes cost effective then it can make billions within no time, the only challenge will be to cater such a huge chunk of crowd effectively.
