Chinese handset maker 'Xiaomi' has been able to create more than required hype with its handset 'Xiaomi Mi3'. Just imagine, it went on sale on Flikart on July 22 and with the hype Flipkart created, it managed to receive around 1,00,000 registrations by July 21 itself. Only registered users were eligible to buy the handsets and due to overload of traffic, Flipkart website gave up within 40 mins after the sale started. After that Mi 3 went out of stock and as per the information on website, the next stock was supposed to arrive on July 29. Flipkart claims to sell the second batch in five seconds and the third batch of 20,000 handsets in just 2.4 seconds. Ain't these figures crazy?

Though the specs look great and the handset is available in White, Gray, Black, Yellow, Pink, Blue, Gold and Green color options but only if you manage to buy it! The starting price of Mi3 is Rs 13,999 which is very competitive.  The strategy of selling the handsets in this fashion of creating hype has driven the manufacturers and the Flipkart the top position but this trend sometimes forces the buyers to switch to other brands. Let’s see for how long this trend continues.
