I can’t deny the fact that I am big time foodie. I enjoy food as much as I enjoy traveling, especially the regional specialties. Coming home this week turned out to be “spices to my tongue”! LOL!! My friend Gaitry and I decided to go to BBN for dinner. I heard about BBN from few of my foodie friends, so it sounded exciting.

At Barbeque Nation, Chandigarh
Saturday evening, I drove to BBN in Chandigarh. We were welcomed by a beautiful lady at the door and escorted to the couch where we were to be served. The ambience looked quite impressive with the crowd equally contributing to it. Every table in front of the couch had a removable barbeque grill box which was fueled by burning coal. I loved the concept as much as I loved their variety of snacks they served, and the best part was that it was unlimited! I ordered one veg and non-veg buffet each with Corona beer for myself and a martini for Gaitry. Without bothering much about my stomach, I tried a bit of every snack they served, starting from my favorite roasted mushroom and moving on to paneer tikka, chicken tikka, fish, prawns, roasted pineapple, roasted corns, seekh kebab and much more because they tasted as perfectly grilled and spicy as tempting they looked.

Uff!! I never ate so many snacks at the same time sitting in a single restaurant, but I was really enjoying and so was my friend. Thanks to the chef who was courteous enough to take feedback every 30 minutes and ask about the preference of food. Impressive service!!!

We were sitting at the table near the entrance door, so I could not figure out much what was happening on the rear side except a bunch of people standing and few girls gossiping, and so far I was under an impression that this restaurant is all about grilled snacks and drinks but I was wrong when I realized they had much more to offer in main course. So, as per the BBQ culture, we put down the flag on the table which meant that we were done with the snacks.

Though I was almost full, however the variety of food in main course was irresistible. Noodles, manchurian, paneer dish, mix-veg, chicken, mutton rogan josh, prawns, naan and so much more raised the curtains of my appetite again.  I was confused what to miss??? I had chicken curry with rice followed by cake and ice cream. My stomach was more than loaded but the feel of having something different never lasted till the end.

When I came out, I felt like I entered an island of awesome snacks/food cooked to perfection!! I am not sure if some other restaurant could have left that overwhelming experience on mind and feeling on tongue.

All in all, now BBQ is on the top of my list when I want to have endless variety of food and keep it affordable! I am impressed with ambiance, variety, food quality, and courtesy of staff. Thanks BBN!! See you again!!
