Indian Automobile King, Maruti Suzuki is getting ready with its breakthrough model Celerio Diesel. Though covered but lately it has been caught on test run near the the company's Gurgaon factory. Celerio's pertol version and CNG hit the Indian roads in February and May 2014 respectively. It was the first car in India to come with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) in such a low price range. Celerio, which was originally launched at a starting price of ₹3.90 lakh, if rumors are believed then Maruti will be lauching the New Celerio Diesel in coming October or in early 2015 along with Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.

Starting from 2015, Celerio is expected to be offered in four Variants- LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi(O). Except in top models, there are not many changes inside the cabin and exterior. The Celerio diesel will be coming up with better suspension than previous models and will powered by Maruti's 2 pot 800cc diesel engine. This engine generates a power of 45-50 bhp and a peak torque of 120-130 Nm and is exected to deliver 31 kmpl of fuel efficiency. We will have to wait till the Celerio's official announcement for the final price and more details about new features.

Considering the engine and the features, Celerio diesel is expected to be priced between ₹4.5- ₹5.0 lakh. With Maruti Suzuki's tag attached, it will be a major rival for Chevrolet beat and Ford Figo diesel variants.
