The word ' new technology' , when linked to anything, develops a kind of curiosity in my mind to find out what's new this time? The introduction of products like Little printer, Sense Sleep Sensor, pd.id, Coolest Cooler, Frebble, BMW ActiveHybrid 7, Mercedes-Benz S Class Pullman are the excellent examples set by the innovative minds.

The Polaris Slingshot

Most of us are already familiar with the big names like Harley Davidson and Triumph Motorcycles; however, people with knowledge of power-sports know where the power-sports equipment brand ' Polaris' stand. The ability to  make different and flawless products makes them rule the power-sports industry.

The Polaris Slingshot

After Campagna T-Rex, Morgan Three-Wheeler and Can-Am Spyder, Polaris also decided to handle the things differently this time. Unlike the conventional motorcycles designs, Polaris has brought a major revoultion in the motorcycle design with the introduction of ' Slingshot'. Slingshot is a 3 wheeled motorcycle. At first glace you will never call it motorcycle because of its looks. It looks more like a 2 seater open cockpit sports car with 2 wheels in the front and 1 on the rear side. The company claims it to be a three-wheeled motorcycle because it is not loaded with features like airbags, bumpers, and other safety features which are included in every car.

The Polaris Slingshot

The body of Polaris Slingshot is fitted on a tabular steel frame, which not only provides safety but also dresses the motorcycle. Though attractive but it is low enough to get noiced by larger vehicles in few scenario's. Like a car, it comes with two side by side seats in the front row. Three-point safety belts are attached to these adjustable seats for extra safety. The pilot/ rider sits on the front left seat to ride and control the vehicle using a tilting steering wheel, three foot pedals and a manual gear box.

It is powered by a General Motor's 2.4-liter EcoTec 4-cylinder engine, which develops 173 units of horse power. This engine comes with a 2 years warranty from Polaris and is more than enough not only to ride but to fly a slingshot of 1,725-lb curbed weight around every corner. The double wishbone suspension attached to the steering wheels performs as good as car's suspension. On the front side, it gets a wide body with 3 headlights, 17″ x 7″ Inch front wheels and on the rear it runs on a single 18″ x 9.5″ wheel.

As the company claims he Slingshot to be a motorcycle, so normal two wheeler motorcycle laws should be implemented on it. It should be eligible to be licensed and insured in all the states in America with privileges similar to other motorcycles on public roads and have access to tools with reduced price or free pass. For people who are fond of fun weekend rides, Sligshot is best on the wheels. Initially the company will be launching the Sling's Titanium Metallic finish base model for $19,999 the Slinghot SL in red finish for $23,999.
