American automobile giant, Ford, added a refreshed version of its premium mid-size sedan Ford Fiesta to Ford India’s product portfolio. All new 2014 Ford Fiesta will now be available in 3 diesel variants - 1.5D Ambiente, 1.5D Trend and 1.5D Titanium. It costs Rs. 7.69 lakh for Ambiente, Rs. 8.55 lakh for Trend and Rs. 9.29 lakh for the high-end Titanium variant. The new style Fiesta will be competing with Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Nissan Sunny because of its lower price range, premium looks and added features.

New 2014 Ford Fiesta
Ford Fiesta 2014 is powered by a 4 Cylinder In-line 8V SOHC TDCi 1498cc engine coupled with all aluminium alloy construction which is expected to deliver a mileage of 24-25.01 kmpl in standard conditions. The 5 speed manual transmission car has Independent McPherson Strut with Coil spring & Anti-roll bar front suspension and Semi-independent twist beam with twin shock absorbers filled with gas & oil as the rear suspension. The front brakes are ventilated discs, while the rear ones are self adjusting drums. At the bottom, there's 195/60 R15 tubeless tyres and 15 inch steel wheels (Alloy ones for Titanium variant). The company claims it to be a low maintenance car as it will require a service after 10,000 kms.

It is now loaded with features like keyless entry, push button start, parking sensors, ultra rigid safety cell, new makeover in design, including dual-tone interiors with charcoal black and light earth grey finish, chrome park brake release knob, metallic painted center console and door pull handles. All the variants feature front dual airbags, ABS with EBD, engine immobilizer, child lock and door reinforcements. Pull drift compensation technology gives an upper edge to Fiesta's power steering and its music system is fitted with 6 speakers with the controls available on steering wheel.

As per the online sources, Ford sold only 1,198 units of Fiesta in 2013-2014. I hope that the new looks and features of 2014 Ford Fiesta, a new sexy in this range of cars, picks up the numbers for Ford at the earliest!
