Today, on one side Mercedes-Benz announced the Launch of its Limited Edition Mercedes-Benz- A Class and Mercedes-Benz- B Class, and on the other side it talked about stepping into the car rental market in India. Mercedes-Benz has tied-up with Carzonrent, a car rental service provider to offer luxury self- drive concept under the brand of Myles. Carzonrent, is a Delhi-based 15-year-old company which operates rental car business in 39 cities. Carzonrent informed that the company got 6,500 cars in the offering and is planning to increase it to 30,000 cars in the next three years. Both of the partners observers that other car rental brands like Hertz, Avis and Budget could not do so well in India because their business models were not customised according to Indian car Rental market. So looking at the business potential in India they came up with a joint venture which will definitely give them an an upper edge over all the competitors in the market.
According to the sources, this association, under the brand of Myles will offer C-Class & E-Class models of Mercedes in major cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai initially, and will come up with other models like SLK and AMG versions with the expansion of project in near future.
According to the offerings, interested luxury car enthusiasts can rent Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Mercedes-Benz E-Class on hourly or a daily basis. Mercedes-Benz C class can be hired at Rs 900 per hour for maximum 25km and Rs 6,500 for 24 Hrs. Whereas, Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be available Rs 1,200 per hour for maximum 25 km and Rs 9,500 for 24 Hrs. The per hour charges include the fuel cost but various taxes and other formalities might be applicable on the this rent.
