I love to travel, especially when the trip involves greenery and adventure. Though it takes me more than 7 hrs. to reach, but believe it not, since February, I have already visited Rishikesh three times, with just beach and adventure on my mind. For the last 5 years, Rishikesh has become one of my favorite places.

Camp 5 Elements - Camp View
Camp 5 Elements - Beach View
Rock Climbing and Rappelling

'Camp 5 Elements’ and 'Peddler's Zone' are a strong recommendation from my side. If you are planning to go there with your girlfriend, wife, daughter, or even alone, the camp takes complete responsibility of your safety or any kind of misconduct on its premises. The location is around 40 kms. away from Rishikesh Bus Stand, which can be covered by a local bus or if you are in your personal car or taxi; use your cellphone's GPS to easily trace it. Park your car on the roadside and walk down towards the camp area. A connecting bridge over Ganges (River Ganga) is not only reaching the beach but also for adventure during the time you are there. The view of the beach is beautiful. Clean silver sand, green tents, white canopy for dining purpose and the purity of river Ganga  makes it most picturesque location. Usually, other camps charge between INR 1500 - 2000 and the Camp 5 Element charges between INR 2700-3200 depending upon the size of the group, but I am sure the facilities, quality of tents, cleanliness and yummy meals served makes it more than it’s worth as compared to other camps. Peddler's Zone charges around INR 1500-2000 with nice washrooms and charging facility for your cellphones; however, the beach isn't as beautiful and serene as Camp 5 Elements!

Here is a checklist of things you should carry if you are planning a trip to Rishikesh for camping:
1. Buy your alcoholic drinks beforehand, else you will have to rush back from your camp to the main market which is more than 50 km in Dehradun.
2. Portable music stereo with karaoke for extra fun at night.
3. A camera (preferably waterproof). I recommend Nikon A110; it is a good option for videos while rafting.
4. Sunscreen lotion, oil, soap, tooth brush & paste, facewash, and towel.
5. Shorts, night suit, 3-4 t-shirts for nice clicks on beach.
6. Icebox, and if possible ice too, because sometimes it might not be available due to high demand.
7. Power-bank and charger for your phone.
8. At least one footwear for beach, and one for rock/mountain climbing. A pair of sandals for rafting, if you wish to; however, I recommend rafting barefoot.
9. Take 2 empty bags with you to dispose your waste, like beer bottles and empty wafer packs with you and throw it in waste bin later.

In case you still wish to add something, please feel free to comment! :)

Good luck for camping! Enjoy! Cheers!! Thumbs up!!
