South Korean Multinational Conglomerate Company, Samsung, raised the curtains from its new Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and 8.4 in India. Galaxy Tab S 10.5 comes with a price tag of Rs.44,800 and the 8.4 version is launched for Rs.37,800.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5-inch version is powered by a 7,900mAh battery, while the 8.4-inch model has a 4,900mAh battery.  The tablets run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Samsung has implemented its TouchWiz UI, along with its new Magazine UX.

Both the models stand out on the tab’s crowd and presented as rivals to the iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina Display. They come with 16M colors Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, giving a  resolution of 2,560x1,600 pixels. The 8.4-inch model has 359 PPI and the 10.5-inch model has 288 PPI of Pixel densities. Samsung has introduced 16GB and 32G variants for both with identical 3GB RAM coupled with Exynos 5 Octa 5420 Chipset , Quad-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 respectively to give equal power to both tabs.

The perforated back is intentionally designed to make them look like Galaxy S5, and Fingerprint Sensor is common among both the models. The Tab S 8.4 comes with a Dimension of 212.8 x 125.6 x 6.6 mm and weighs 294grams, whereas Tab S 10.5 measures 247.3 x 177.3 x 6.6 mm and weighs 465grams. Both of them have Wireless cards are capable of connecting over Wi-Fi Direct for much quicker transfer files. The User Interface is surprisingly quick and provides fluid MultiWindow mode.

Technically these tabs look quite convincing but the price tag and the big time successful Apple iPad could be the biggest hurdle. Let’s see how soon Samsung jumps over!
